I would like to honour Philip’s memory. I found him to be always very kind and absolutely dependable. I respected his wisdom as an Anglican Reader. I was grateful to him especially in that he organised - without any fuss- our Rota for reading or saying prayers at our Team Communion. Philip was the sort of person whose presence made a difference to those who worked with him or met him.
May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

PHILLIP
A time of reflection today
For a kindly man’s farewell
Who lived a true Christian life
Everyone could tell
You were a true gentleman
With a quiet sense of fun
And a big beaming smile
As warm as the morning sun
Always there at church events
Manning stalls to raise some money
Selling raffle tickets
Your countenance always sunny
Your online church service
Always a joy to see
Your kindly voice speaking
The Word of God to me
Clear and with much love
You spoke of God’s good news
To all who could not journey out
To sit upon the pews
A kind and gentle, calming soul
Is what we found in you
Who loved his God and his family
And whose life was good and true
I can almost still hear you preaching
Your voice in my mind’s ear
Delivering God’s word
Lovingly and clear
Your gentle voice now stilled
No more God’s earthly preacher
Now with Him, you spoke of:
Our Great and Heavenly Teacher
